Drysuits
are the best way to enjoy safe and
warm outdoor cold water activity.
With advances in technical clothing
properties, and resultant decrease
in manufacturing costs, it has
become very affordable for the
prudent outdoor participant to wear
the best in protective clothing.
The most comfortable drysuits
will allow moisture generated within
the suit to escape through the
fabric, helping to keep the wearer
dry and warm. This breath-ability
will vary with the type of fabric
and construction characteristics.
Some fabrics are "coated" to achieve
water repellency and breath-ability.
Others are composed of multiple
bonded layers. Generally speaking, the
multiple layer bonded materials are
superior to coated materials.
Next to skin and subsequent
layers need to transport moisture and remain dry. Polypro is a must.
Chose prudently, your
comfort and ultimately your life may
depend upon the integrity of your
drysuit and related gear. |

Now all the great
features that have made the B-Pod famous are now
available with a relief zipper in the men's model. A
relief zipper for the women's B-Pod is in the R&D
stage.

For all of
us who want a real drysuit NOT a "semi dry" suit, but do not
like the constriction of a latex neck gasket, Stohlquist
introduced in 2006 the Body Pod.
The Body Pod
is a full function DRYSUIT...not a compromise semi dry suit !
The Body Pod
has the advantage of a titanium coated neoprene neck gasket,
which is water tight and very smooth and stretchy. The material
is called glideskin. No more neck choke by the latex gasket. A
very soft, smooth and effective neck seal. This is not a hook &
loop (velcro) neck closure as on spray jackets and that popular
“Semi Dry” suit, this is the real deal...with comfort!
Every detail
of the Stohlquist suit screams quality. The list price is $569.95,
yes, a bit more than a “semi dry” suit, but you are comparing a
‘wanna be’ to ‘the real deal’. How much is your personal comfort
and possibly your life worth?
The Body Pod
is an extremely comfortable, better fitting, better looking and
most importantly, better performing suit.
When
considering that I paddle all winter, and safety and personal
comfort are the real priorities, why would I settle for a
semi-dry suit, when a real drysuit with a soft neck was
available for just a few dollars more? If I get pounded in the
surf or go for an accidental swim or need to roll in Dec, Jan, Feb, or
March do I want to be almost dry, or Dry????
