Tenth Annual Patcong Creek Cleanup!
Join the fun - Picnic After - Sunday May 17, 2015

Free Rentals Available
News Article Spring 2015

The 10th Annual Patcong Creek Cleanup will be bigger and better than ever. This year the Somers Point Green Team is joining the event.

The 2015 goal is to sweep the entire 6 mile length of the creek from the base of the damn at Central Avenue to the Great Egg Harbor River at Mays Landing-Somers point Road.

Clean up sites and launches include: Somers Point-Mays Landing Road, Ocean Heights Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, and Poplar Avenue. Through the generosity of the ACUA all the necessary cleanup supplies will be provided (i.e. tee shirts, bags, gloves, pickers, etc.). Bring your canoes or kayaks to head out into the creek or help out on land to clean up the banks of the Patcong Creek. Paddle Shack at Ocean Heights Ave & Patcong Creek is offering the use of kayaks free for the event with pre-registration.

Here is how you can get involved:

❖ Gather your friends, family, scout troop, faith group, business, club, team, neighborhood, youth group school or just yourself and make a commitment to improve your community.

❖ Register yourself, your family or your organization by May 15h by emailing Leigh Ann Napoli, or calling 609.927.4108 with your name, phone number, and how many volunteers you are registering.

❖ Then someone will call you back to discuss which section your group will be cleaning (on water or land).

❖ Need a boat? Reserve a free kayak at the Paddle Shack in advance by emailing George at or calling 609.653.4FUN

❖ Arrive at 10 am at your designated area–rain or shine.

❖ At 12:30 pm enjoy a free picnic, shark tooth hunt and awards ceremony at Memorial Park in Linwood. Please feel free to bring Frisbees, soccer balls, kites, or other sports equipment.

Cleanup base location: Linwood Public Works Garage, 550 Hamilton Avenue
Contact: Clerk's Office at: 927-4108
