Are you one of the small yak paddlers who wonder why so many of us prefer longer touring type kayaks?
Paddle Shack and NJ Kayak are teaming up to help you discover the answer to that question.

Fall Kayak Tour of The Sedge Islands, Barnegat Light, Viking Village and interior Barnegat Inlet Area. Sunday
October 16th from 10:30am - 3:30pm.

This is a very special kayaking event, designed for the novice paddler and those more accomplished who wish to brush up on their skills. Join us in the beautiful fall air in this magical location. Air & water temps are still comfortable, migrating and regional birds and waterfowl are visible as we explore this natural wildlife habitat.

Your guides for this excursion (Cpt Kayak & Barnegat Bill) are experienced Barnegat Bay sailors and kayakers, with ACA instructor certifications for various kayaking disciplines and the love of paddling and instructor skills to make this a rewarding introduction to touring kayaks.

All kayaks, equipment and safety gear is furnished.
You only need bring your lunch and sense of adventure.
We will supply touring kayaks, PFDs, paddles, safety gear, etc.

	Located along the central NJ coast Barnegat Bay is the start of the barrier island chains that runs along the east coast all the way to Florida. Barnegat Inlet is the only source for ocean waters to enter and for boaters to reach the ocean.
This is a very exciting area to explore with the ever changing conditions with the interaction of bay and ocean. The area provides the perfect environment for the coastal sea kayak paddler with protected islands to explore and if desired open water challenges. Birding is great and migrating birds should be seen.
	Our goal is to explore the islands off of High Bar Harbor located at the northern end of Long Beach Island (LBI). The Sedge Is. around what is known as Claim Is., provides protected exploration with expansive views of Barnegat Bay and Inlet. There a portion of the Inlet known as The Dyke that can be portaged for access to Viking Village. If conditions, group experience and strength allow, crossing the inlet at the safer western end will permit the exploration of the Sedge Is. at southern end of Island Beach State Park.
	Kayak tour is designed for the novice and the experienced paddler. Foe the novice, this is your opportunity to experience and be educated in this great sport. For the experienced this is your opportunity to explore an area perhaps not familiar with, meet new friends and yes, hopefully learn from myself and my friend Bill of NJ Kayak. Pack a lunch. We will stop on one of the island beaches for a mid paddle lunch break. The tour is planned to be a five hours leaving the Barnegat Light Bay Beach at 25th street at 10am.
	The tour is for adults 18yrs and over, with the fee being $85 per person.
