Just a short distance from the world of shopping and traffic is a wonderland
of nature waiting to mesmerize and seduce you. As your paddle dips into the
placid waters, your everyday world will disappear into the lake airs.

Our trip will include a visit to the new beaver lodge in Turtle Cove.
Besides the multitude of turtles in the water, we have seen a few really
large turtles seemingly playing "King of the Hill" sunning themselves atop
the beaver's enterprise. Approach slowly and quietly for an interesting
close up view. The evergreens that line the shore will make you think you
are in deep woods Maine. Wading birds such as Great Blue Herons and Egrets
are seen along the shore banks.
We will proceeding up river a short distance toward the Bald Eagles nest. In
a tall pine at the water's edge, the size is amazing. Also along the way is
Beaver Slap Island, were beavers have greeted us with loud tail slaps as we
