Lake Lenape Sunset Tours |
|
Just a short distance from the world of shopping and traffic is a wonderland of nature waiting to mesmerize and seduce you. As your paddle dips into the placid waters, your everyday world will disappear into the lake airs. Centuries have passed, but the lake and wildlife pleasures remain to thrill and enchant all who take the time to visit.
Our trip will include a visit to the new beaver lodge in Turtle Cove. Besides the multitude of turtles in the water, we have seen a few really large turtles seemingly playing "King of the Hill" sunning themselves atop the beaver's enterprise. Approach slowly and quietly for an interesting close up view. The evergreens that line the shore will make you think you are in deep woods Maine. Wading birds such as Great Blue Herons and Egrets are seen along the shore banks.
The north end of the lake is also a favorite with river otters, who have been saying hello on occasion. There are many flowering plants and trees that line the shore. White swamp azaleas love the wetlands all along the trip route. While in bloom June thru August, their fragrance is intoxicating.
This is a trip that you will want to take more than once!
Paddle Shack guided sunset lake tours will interest novice and experienced kayakers. Trips will include basic safety and paddling instruction.
